Health Spa Accomodations

You’ll stay at our spacious timber frame mountain lodge surrounded by terraces and lawns with stunning mountain and lake vistas. Decorated with handmade furniture and artisan touches, the lodge offers upscale amenities in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.

Mountain Trek British Columbia

The lounge-living room, with its massive rock fireplace, welcomes you. You eat in a delightful, light-filled dining room and settle into your private retreat in one of the 14 very quiet, custom furnished bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom stocked with spa amenities. Each guest room is provided with internet access, and there is a computer available for guest use. Hidden from view, but considered by some to be one of the best amenities at the lodge, is the laundry room. We do your laundry daily – and with great care – so you can pack light.

Just steps away from the main lodge is the newly built guest spa area with a lounge/ tea center, a steam room, an infra-red sauna, showers and private massage and treatment rooms. The attached cork-floored yoga studio is light and spacious with a panoramic view of Kootenay Lake.

It’s here, during the early morning yoga sessions that begin each day, that you will watch the sun rise over the mountains.

Next to the yoga studio is the newly built, fully equipped gym with Cybex resistance equipment, free weights, elliptical trainers, recumbent bikes, spin bikes, treadmills and a built-in sound system. Open for use 24 hours a day, the gym offers a full view of Kootenay Lake.

Mountain Trek at Rancho La Puerta

Nestled amid exotic gardens and lavishly landscaped grounds are beautifully appointed private casitas with spacious bedrooms, living room/ sitting areas (most with wood-burning fireplaces) and full bathrooms with the spa amenities you expect from a world-class resort. The casitas are tastefully, colorfully and individually decorated with Mexican folk art – no two accommodations are alike -- and feature brick patios that overlook gardens, meadows or mountains. Each casita has a CD player, reverse-osmosis-filtered drinking water and such niceties as flashlights and umbrellas. Your laundry is picked up and delivered every other day.

The Rancho La Puerta dining hall, with its crackling fire and massive wood beams, provides a separate area just for Mountain Trek guests. The three health spas – one specifically for men – are serene oasis for relaxation, massage and other body treatments. The sprawling resort property also includes several gyms, a number of work-out, yoga and meditation studios, three swimming pools, tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, a quiet fireplace lounge and a computer center with free wifi. Lovely brick paths wind around the property. Around every corner is a surprise – a bronze statue, a cactus garden, a grape arbor.
